These Terms and Conditions govern your booking and participation in trekking journeys and adventure travel services provided by Chikima Tanzania Travel. By making a booking with us, you acknowledge and agree to these terms in full.

When you make a booking with Chikima Tanzania Travel, the following payment terms apply:

• Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total trek price is required to confirm your booking
• Full Payment: Balance must be received at least 60 days before trek start date
• Late Bookings: Reservations within 60 days of departure require immediate full payment
• Payment Methods: Bank transfer, credit card, or PayPal accepted (currency: CHF or USD)

We understand that plans change. Our cancellation policy balances flexibility with the need to cover committed costs:

All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to info@chikimatravel.com. The cancellation date is determined by when we receive your written notice.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is a significant physical challenge. All participants must:

• Age Requirement: Be at least 12 years of age (minors require parental/guardian consent)
• Health: Be in good physical and mental health suitable for high-altitude trekking
• Medical Disclosure: Disclose any pre-existing medical conditions that could affect trek completion
• Medical Clearance: Obtain doctor's approval if you have health concerns
• Insurance: Have valid travel insurance covering high-altitude trekking and emergency evacuation

While we take every precaution to ensure your safety, mountain trekking involves inherent risks. By booking with us, you acknowledge:

• Chikima Tanzania Travel acts as an agent for service providers (accommodation, transportation, guides)
• We are not liable for acts, errors, or omissions of third-party service providers
• Participants assume all risks associated with high-altitude trekking, including altitude sickness, weather, and terrain hazards
• Guide decisions regarding safety are final and must be followed at all times

Our liability is limited to the total amount paid for your trek. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance.

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all participants. Your policy must cover:

Proof of adequate insurance must be provided before the trek start date.

We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary if necessary for safety, weather conditions, or circumstances beyond our control, including:

• Route alterations due to weather or trail conditions
• Changes to accommodation if original facilities are unavailable
• Schedule adjustments for safety or logistical reasons

In the event of significant changes, we will notify you as soon as possible. No refunds will be provided for minor itinerary adjustments made for safety or operational reasons.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, we expect:

• Respectful behavior toward guides, porters, other participants, and local communities
• Compliance with all guide instructions and safety protocols
• Responsible environmental practices (Leave No Trace principles)
• No illegal drugs or excessive alcohol consumption
